A4 Art Australia opening day - Saturday 5 March 2022

This years’ A4 Art Show Opening was a great success. Not only because we had 634 artworks from nearly every state and territory (all except NT), on display, but also a fantastic turnout, with many visitors and it was pleasing to see artists attending and enjoying a glass of wine and chatting to other visitors. Our President Robert Lee opened this year’s A4 Art show, whilst also welcoming everyone who came along, to enjoy the diversity and sheer talent of the 200 artists who entered their work.

CAS President opening A4 Art Australia 2022

The Arts have suffered during our long pandemic and to be able to hold a show like this and invite the public to come along and relax, enjoy, and simply connect with like-minded individuals over a glass of wine, whilst viewing artwork, is something that we have all missed.

The logistics of organizing a large art show like this relies on the generous help of volunteers and committee members. The sheer number of works makes this very challenging. But thanks to the hard work of the CAS Committee and artist-volunteers, the behind-scenes organisation made it a smooth and well thought-out operation. Many months of planning goes into a national exhibition of this calibre.

The variety of artworks was simply amazing! Whatever your preference there seemed to something for everyone. This year we saw quite a large number of furry and feathered friends amongst our artworks. Real and imagined worlds were also featured, cities and landscapes which are always a pleasure to see. Mixed media was on the menu for many of the artworks, as well as small sculptures.

Common themes include birds, animals and flowers

Throughout the exhibition opening, the sales desk was a ‘buzz’ of activity with people lining up to purchase their favourite find. The crowds kept coming through the gallery at a steady pace and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Some sculptures and light-related works.
