Our exhibibition, part of the Herring Island Summer Arts Festival, features artists from CAS and four other leading Melbourne-based arts organizations who will show their work in the gallery on the Island, reawakening of the original concept of an arts venue in a bushland setting close to the heart of Melbourne.
The theme for our exhibition is Contemporary by Nature - a contemporary interpretation of nature in painting, drawing and sculpture. Our exhibition is open to all exhibiting members of the Contemporary Art Societry of Victoria.
See our photo gallery of the art in this year's show and also some of the permanent sculptures of the Herring Island Sculpture Park!

Herring Island Gallery is the converted scout hall. The fireplace and the marks on the floor are the give-away signs – the architecture is now inspired by the place – a gift to the arts by the Myer Foundation and the genius of architect, Greg Burgess.
The festival will complement the existing permanent collection of sculpture placed around the Island. More information about the permanent collection and the Festival - including the exhibition dates/times for the other participating groups - can be found on these websites:
