1. What part of the process of creating art do you like
best?
I enjoy the most getting
immersed in world of my own, my thoughts, and having while
creating an inner dialogue, verging on insanity. I enjoy
running away from reality, sinking deep within myself, and
trying to resolve my issues whilst painting.
2.
What is your working environment like?
I usually work in a state of
fluctuating mess, which reflects the state of my mind. I
enjoy the darkness in it and isolation that allows me to be
immersed into pain and anger within me. There are paintings
on floor in varied stages of being completed, as well as
small space for meditation and time to myself.
3.
What kind of (formal & informal) art training have you
had?
I am self taught artist, which
gave me the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from
them the hard way, and sometimes on the way learn few new
techniques and approaches to creation process which would
not be usually taught in art school. This has allowed
me to develop a style of my own, where I am free to explore
without being imposed a style of the others on top of me.
4.
How has your art training affected the kind of art you
produce?
I think being artistic outside
of a school environment enabled me to truly channel my
creativity outside of the constraints of rules and theories
imposed on one in a classroom.
5.
Name some important influences and inspirations in your art
career.
I look towards my dreams or
nightmares as means of introspection's, as something that
drives me to create strong emotional imagery. I dream most
of my paintings, not only the imagery but also the
execution.
6.
What has been the most difficult thing you have encountered
in your work?
The most difficult part is
trying to balance the fine line between total despair and
sanity, and not fully surrendering to the darkness within
me.
7.
Have there been major turning points in your art
career?
I don't think there is such a
thing as a single defining moment, but I think there is a
natural, gradual progression through hard work, passion and
determination. Every day, with every work my art changes,
evolving to something new.
8.
What has been the highlight of your art
career?
Every time I meet someone who
enjoys my artwork, or has reaction to it is a highlight to
me, because it lets me know that my work, things that are
within me have touched someone and stirred someone
within.
